Summary
DCAC serves to improve the lives of abused children in Dallas County. Join us on-site at DCAC to put together "Clean Start" bags. These bags, filled with cleaning supplies, are helpful to families when they relocate due to an abuse situation. Often times cleaning supplies are not top of mind nore have the allocated a budget towards these items. There is a $10 fee that contributes to the supplies needed for this project. This opportunity is for 18+ and not in high school. After registration, DCAC will send a secure link for a background check.

Help with setting up all the supplies needed to pack 25,272 meals in HPUMC's Great Hall. You'll help unpack all the bins, funnels, and any additional packing supplies needed. It's helpful to be able to lift 40 lbs as the rice will need to be distributed. If you also want to help pack the meals, please sign up for that serving opportunity separately. This opportunity welcomes youth ages 15+ and able to lift 40 lbs.

Summary
Crossroads Community Services exists to nourish our community's low-income families by providing nutritious food and supportive education. In 2017 Crossroads distributed 2.3 million pounds of food to approximately 11,000 unique individuals, which translates into roughly 1,900,000 meals and a market value savings to our clients of $4.6 million. Join us to sort food donations and pack boxes for emergency food distribution. This opportunity welcomes individuals ages 14+, or 10+ if accompanied by a parent.

We'll be packing 25,272 meals via an assembly-line packaging of highly nutritious dehydrated meals comprised of rice, soy, vegetables and 23 essential vitamins and minerals in HPUMC's Great Hall. Rise Against Hunger is an international hunger relief organization that distributes food and life-changing aid to the world's most vulnerable, mobilizing the necessary resources to end hunger by 2030. There is a $10 fee that contributes to the supplies needed for this project. Children ages 3 and older and their families are welcome to participate!

Summary
The Stewpot offers a safe haven for homeless and at-risk individuals of Dallas, providing resources for basic survival needs, as well as opportunities to start a new life. At the Stewpot Clothes Closet, individuals and families experiencing homelessness and those at-risk are able to obtain clothing needed for work, school, warmth and dignity. Join us to assist with the sorting of clothing so it will be ready for distribution to clients. This opportunity welcomes individuals ages 18+ or 14+ with a parent.

This project is geared towards individuals with disabilities and their families to serve together! Join us in the new Tolleson building to pack bags filled with hygiene essentials for our neighbors experiencing homelessness. These services include routine and specialty medical care, dental care, social services, nutrition services and education to help clients lead more healthy and productive lives. Following Saturday clinic hours, clinic staff, patients and volunteers will enjoy fellowship over a shared lunch in the community room. Volunteers will prepare a taco lunch for this group using the kitchen of Grace UMC (4105 Junius St, Dallas, TX 75246) across the street from the Agape Clinic. You will serve and then join the group for lunch (including other HPUMC-Agape volunteers). This opportunity welcomes volunteers 14+. There is a $10 registration fee that contributes to the supplies needed for the community lunch.

VNA Meals-On-Wheels provides hot, nutritious, freshly prepared meals five days a week to Dallas County residents who can't provide for themselves due to illness, advanced age or disability. On weekends, healthy snack bags help supplement the weekday program. Join us to pack and distribute these snack bags. This event will include decorating bags, packing them, then driving a short route to deliver to homebound neighbors. This is a family friendly project! There is a $10 registration fee that contributes to the supplies needed for this project.

They have been providing hot meals to their neighbors since 1975, and since May 2008, have been the sole meal provider at The Bridge Homeless Recovery Center, serving on average 1,000 per day, 7 days per week. Join us to serve lunch and to help our friends in need! This opportunity welcomes individuals ages 18+.

Genesis Women's Shelter provides safety, shelter and support for women who have experienced domestic violence, and raises awareness regarding its cause, prevalence and impact. You'll help Genesis by sorting snacks, preparing breakfast burritos, preparing a meal for dinner and helping with some cleaning. This opportunity is for ages 15+. All volunteers must complete a volunteer profile. Volunteers ages 18+ are required to complete a background check through Genesis by March 30th at a cost of $9.95.
